We the People have some significant choices to make in the next few days, choices that will lead us down a path that, to most of us is uncertain.
In a time when everything seems out of [our] control, there is one thing we can do-it’s something we’ve always done so it should come easy for us-the peaceful transition of power in our highest office.
What I mean by this is, let’s NOT react to the outcome of a very divided, stressful election season, but rather respond to our grievances the way Americans always have. If riots break out and we fight ourselves-like we see in third-world countries-we will essentially be giving up any power of the people we have left . We will be giving “them” exactly what they want. . .an excuse to take full control over the “unruly” masses of American people. I say we don’t give them what they want.
Never believe anything until it has been officially denied . Claud Cockburn
I say we Hold the Line, resist any desire to take to the streets in violent protest which will only have long-term, negative effects on our communities and our nation.
I truly believe that no matter what *”side of the aisle” we’re on, when push comes to shove we all love our country and want the best for it .
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m ready for all of this to be over . . . Although I’m pretty sure there will be more unexpected (and unprecedented, no doubt ) events to follow.
May God have mercy on this nation as we embark into an unfamiliar and uncertain future.
