The story of the poppy

As Americans kick off  the unofficial start  of summer I’d like to ask everyone reading this to remember why we “celebrate” at the end of May every year.

Enjoy your long weekend!  Be  safe, be happy.

  1. In Flanders fields how proud are they whose forms beneath the poppies lay…

Men who saw Verdun, and died at the Marne…Soissons…

And those who tried the fearful foe at Chateau-Thierry, Who fought and bled…whose hearts grew weary…

But in whose minds one thought kept churning, that the torch of Liberty be kept burning.
